Technical solution case study
Pipeline purging gas detection
Intura were approached by a client who was experiencing issues with the reliability of their Hydrocarbon Purge Meter. Another service provider had proposed repair and replacements for the faulty units which were approaching six years of age. The model of battery-operated gas detector they were using has limited product support within the country and relies on D Cell batteries for operation.
We consulted with the client to confirm their requirements and provided a fit-for-purpose solution which was:
- equal in cost to the proposed repairs
- brand new with warranty & local support
- half the replacement cost of their current detector
- half the weight of the current detector
- rechargeable vs. disposable battery.
